🌿 Sustainable manufacturing

FSC certified laser cutting and eco-friendly wood manufacturing in Europe.

DigitalCraft is a Czech laser cutting and engraving manufacturer committed to responsible sourcing, certified materials and local European production. We work with FSC® and PEFC certified wood, European-origin plywood and materials that meet strict safety and environmental standards — giving our clients a transparent, verifiable supply chain for their branded products.

📄 Certifications

Verified certifications that protect your supply chain

For brands, retailers and product developers selling in Europe, the USA or regulated markets, material certifications are not optional — they are a prerequisite. Our FSC® and PEFC certified wood sourcing and EN 71 compliant materials give you the documentation and traceability needed to sell with confidence. See certificate.

🌿

FSC® certified wood and plywood

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification confirms that wood materials originate from responsibly managed forests that protect biodiversity, worker rights and local communities. FSC® certified sourcing is increasingly required by European and North American retailers for wooden products.

  • Recognised by major European and North American retailers.
  • Covers birch, poplar and beech plywood used in our production.
  • Chain of custody documentation available on request.
🌎

PEFC certified sustainable sourcing

PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is Europe's leading forest certification framework. PEFC certification confirms that our wood supply chain follows sustainable forest management practices from forest to finished product.

  • Widely recognised by European public procurement and retail standards.
  • Supports compliance with EU timber regulation requirements.
  • Applicable to plywood and solid wood materials in our range.
👤

EN 71 / CE 3+ material safety

Products manufactured for children and toy applications require materials that comply with EN 71 — the European safety standard for toys. CE 3+ certification means the materials we use have been tested and verified as safe for children's products sold in the European market.

  • Required for toys and children's products sold in the EU.
  • Covers chemical safety, mechanical properties and material composition.
  • Enables our clients to sell certified children's products in Europe.
🏛 European production

Local European manufacturing as a sustainability advantage

Sourcing from Asia means longer shipping routes, larger carbon footprint per shipment, less supply chain visibility and slower response to quality issues. Manufacturing in the Czech Republic — at the heart of Europe — means shorter transport distances, faster delivery and a verifiable production facility you can visit or audit.

📦

Shorter supply chain, lower transport emissions

Shipping from the Czech Republic to Germany, France, the Netherlands, Scandinavia or the UK takes days, not weeks. This significantly reduces transport-related emissions per order compared to manufacturing in Asia and supports the sustainability goals of brands that report on Scope 3 emissions or supply chain carbon footprint.

  • Central European location with direct road and rail connections across the EU.
  • Export to the UK, USA and Asia also available for non-EU clients.
  • Faster replenishment cycles reduce overproduction and inventory waste.
🔍

Transparent, auditable production facility

Unlike production sourced through intermediaries or manufactured in distant facilities, our Czech production site is fully accessible to clients who require supply chain audits, facility visits or compliance documentation. What you order is what we produce — in our own facility, with our own equipment and team.

  • No subcontracting to unverified third-party manufacturers.
  • Production documentation and quality records available on request.
  • Facility visits and audits can be arranged for qualifying clients.
✂ Efficient production

Why laser cutting is an inherently low-waste production method

Laser cutting offers a material efficiency advantage that traditional cutting, milling or stamping methods cannot match. The precision of laser technology means less wasted material per production run — which matters both economically and environmentally, particularly when working with certified or premium wood materials.

📈

Minimal kerf and material waste

A laser cutting kerf (the width of material removed during cutting) is typically less than 0.5 mm — far narrower than a saw blade or milling cutter. This means significantly more usable parts per sheet of material and less offcut waste going to disposal.

  • Sub-millimetre cutting kerf versus 3–6 mm for saw or router.
  • More finished parts per sheet of certified plywood.
  • Reduced material cost per unit at production scale.
🔬

Nested layout optimisation

Our production workflow uses nested cutting layouts — where parts are arranged on the sheet to maximise material utilisation and minimise gaps. This further reduces offcut waste and ensures that certified wood material is used as efficiently as possible across every production run.

  • Software-optimised part nesting for each production job.
  • Particularly valuable for certified and premium-grade materials.
  • Reduces material cost and waste simultaneously.

No chemical consumables in cutting

Laser cutting and engraving does not require cutting fluids, lubricants, chemical etchants or other consumables used in traditional manufacturing methods. The process uses only focused light energy — which means no chemical waste streams and no hazardous material handling in the core production process.

  • No cutting fluids or chemical lubricants required.
  • No chemical waste disposal from the cutting process.
  • Clean production environment with filtered fume extraction.
👥 For B2B buyers

Why sustainability credentials matter for your sourcing decision

Sustainability is no longer a marketing add-on for product brands — it is a sourcing requirement driven by retailer standards, consumer expectations and incoming EU regulation. Choosing a certified European manufacturer gives your products a verifiable, defensible sustainability story that supports your brand positioning and compliance needs.

🎁

Retail compliance and buyer requirements

Major European and North American retailers increasingly require FSC® or PEFC certification for wooden products in their range. Sourcing from a certified manufacturer gives you the documentation needed to meet these requirements without additional verification steps or delays at the listing stage.

  • FSC® and PEFC documentation available for retail compliance submissions.
  • EN 71 material safety documentation for toy and children's product buyers.
  • Supports EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) due diligence requirements.

Brand positioning and consumer trust

For brands that communicate sustainability values to their customers, the ability to state "made in Europe from FSC® certified wood" is a concrete, verifiable claim — not a vague aspiration. It supports premium positioning, justifies higher price points and builds consumer trust in an increasingly sceptical market.

  • Concrete, verifiable sustainability claims for your marketing.
  • Supports premium product positioning and pricing strategy.
  • Differentiates your product from non-certified Asian-sourced alternatives.
? FAQ

Sustainability questions from international buyers

Common questions from brands and product buyers about our environmental credentials, certifications and sustainable sourcing practices.

Do you supply FSC® certified wood products?

Yes. We source FSC® certified plywood and wood materials for production. Chain of custody documentation is available on request for clients who need it for retail compliance or marketing purposes.

What is the difference between FSC® and PEFC certification?

Both FSC® and PEFC are internationally recognised forest certification systems that verify responsible forest management. FSC® is more commonly required by North American and UK retailers, while PEFC is the leading framework in continental Europe. We work with materials covered by both systems.

Are your materials safe for children's products?

Yes. Materials used for toy and children's product manufacturing in our facility comply with EN 71 European toy safety standards and carry CE 3+ certification — which is required for selling children's products in the European market.

Can you provide documentation for retail compliance?

Yes. We can provide material certification documents, chain of custody records and safety compliance documentation to support your retail buyer submissions or internal compliance processes.

Where do your wood materials come from?

We primarily source plywood and wood materials from European suppliers — including birch, poplar and beech plywood of European origin. This supports both material quality consistency and a shorter, more transparent supply chain compared to Asian-sourced materials.

Is laser cutting environmentally friendly?

Laser cutting has several environmental advantages over traditional manufacturing: minimal material waste due to narrow kerf, no chemical cutting fluids, software-optimised material nesting and no tooling waste. Our facility also uses filtered fume extraction to manage airborne particles from the cutting process.

Do you manufacture everything in-house?

Yes. All laser cutting, engraving and UV printing takes place in our own production facility in the Czech Republic. We do not subcontract core production to third-party manufacturers, which means you have full visibility and traceability of where and how your products are made.

Can we visit your production facility?

Yes. Facility visits and supply chain audits can be arranged for qualifying clients. Contact us to discuss timing and requirements.
